Culture displayed at Pope's visit

Pope's chasuble with a touch of our culture

Cameroon's culture in all its forms is not only appreciated nation wide but at international scenes. From it's culinary to its cultural dances, it's intangible arts, it's cultural fabrics like the toghu and others.

It is in this light that the North West regional delegate for arts and culture, Comfort NDIMBA, representing the Minister supervised all cultural activities during the Pope's visit to Bamenda.

The Atughu cultural fabrics gave such beautiful colors to the ceremony as many groups opted for the cultural regalia in its different forms made by men and women of culture.

The chasuble of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV equally had the beautiful Atoghu embroidery.

Our cultural display was not left out in the littoral region where the choirs sang in their mother tongue using local instruments: the xylophone. The Pope was given gifts: a canoe, a handmade fabric and a calabash.

In the Center region, dance groups from the four cultural areas were spotted at the unity palace and along the roads, displaying dance steps and artistic dressings from the four cultural areas, in excitement for the presence of His Holiness in our land.
