CAMIFF GUESTS OF HONOR RECEIVED BY THE MINISTER OF ARTS AND CULTURE
Blair Erwin Underwood, Underwood Josephin Cynthia, Germaine Kang, Nshanji Edmund Obed, Tambe Mispa Prisma, led by Gilbert, founder and CEO of CAMIFF all expressed their joy and appreciation for the audience granted as they sat with the Minister of Arts and Culture today 27th of April 2026, in his conference room.
This audience comes just after the cinema festival CAMIFF drew the curtains on its 2026 edition on Saturday 25th April 2026 at the Buea Wall of Fame.
It was an opportunity for the promoter to present a brief report of the activities throughout the week and introduce some of the guests who came from other countries.
During the long week, participants were treated to master classes, workshops, film screening and professional networking.
The promoter Agbor Ebot Gilbert expressed gratitude to MINAC for the accompaniment and the presence of his representative at the closing ceremony. He reiterated the commitment of the organizing committee to work with government for the advancement and promotion of Cameroon cinema and entertainment industry at large.

Construction of cinema halls particularly in Bamenda, Buea, Douala and Yaoundé
Pled with government to grant honorary citizenship to icons in the entertainment industry who have identified their roots in Cameroon like Blair Underwood.

MINAC'S remarks
The honorable Minister of Arts and Culture expressed government's appreciation and encouragement to the organizing committee for the work being done. He stated that it was a clear proof of the love they had for the country and the government was informed of their efforts.
He equally assured the delegation of government's support in resolving the challenges faced in the organization of CAMIFF. This is because this festival stands as a reference and it's activities are in direct connection to the missions of the ministry particularly in the domain of cinema and creative industries.
A reflection group will be put in place to reflect over the different requests and projects, exploit governments strategy for funding and prepare a complete file to submit to hierarchy.
MINAC concluded by encouraging Agbor Ebot Gilbert not to be discouraged but be patient and work with the team to see that results are provided to the requests tabled.
As it is with our culture, beautiful handmade bags with a Greetings from Cameroon inscription were gifted to the guests.
